I was listening to Stephen Fry’s Podograms episode about how the english (or any other) language cannot really be regulated, and how the idea that there is a ‘proper’ english is nonesense. The only English that matters is that which is comprehended as ‘normal’ at the time. language is a living thing and therefore evolves its own rules and norms to the culture and life of its time.
